Hi, I’installed GazeSpeaker on Windows 8.1, it worked with Eye Tribe.
After 3 days, the main settings was unable to find any voice options. The field is empty. I tried to uninstall GS and install MS language packages but nothing appears…
Anyone had this problem?
Regards!
Guilherme Mendes – BrazilFebruary 24, 2015 at 5:25 pm #6967When I choose the Language option, the following warning message is “There is no voice installed for this language: please download and install the voice.
February 25, 2015 at 1:59 pm #6968Hi Guilherme,
I suppose you set-up the language to portuguese, right ?
You can check the installed voices on your system in the control pannel, programs, programs and features (or uninstall or change a program):in the list of installed programs, you should find :
– Microsoft Server Speech Platform Runtime : version 11.0.7400.345
– Microsoft Server Speech Recognition Language – TELE (pt-PT) : version 11.0.7400.335
– Microsoft Server Speech Text to Speech Voice : version 11.0.7400.335Please check these programs and the version: if you have an earlier version, it will not work because the different modules need to be in version 11.0 -> in this case, uninstall these modules and reinstall the program
May 30, 2015 at 3:54 am #7022I have the same issue. The installed programs are the correct versions but the voices box is empty. Same no matter what language I select. I have reinstalled, after a complete uninstall. Same result. Any ideas on what the issue might be. The system is running windows 8.1 with Bing.
May 31, 2015 at 6:03 pm #7027Hi Carl,
We have updated the program (see update 1.5.1 for download) and you should see in the list of voices all the voices installed on your computer. This should fix your problem.June 1, 2015 at 7:31 pm #7044Thanks Pierre,
I will download and try tonight when I get home.
Thanks again!!

June 2, 2015 at 1:58 am #7045Hi Pierre,
I uninstalled all the components of the program, including the MS speech components and languages. I then reinstalled 1.5.1 but the voices box is still empty, no matter what language I select. Is there a chance it could be connected to the version of Windows I am running? This is effectively a “tablet” version of Windows 8.1 that is running on an Atom based mini pc. The Micrsoft speech components install in C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Speech and Gazespeaker installs in C:\Program Files\Gazespeaker. Thanks again for your help, CarlJune 4, 2015 at 7:10 pm #7049Hi Pierre,
Also thought it might be leftover remnants from the older install. Do you think I should try to clean up the registry? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

June 4, 2015 at 8:39 pm #7050Hi Carl,
It could be to an incompatibility in the versions of the different speech modules.
Could you check in the control panel / programs / the list of Microsoft speech modules ?
You should see:
– Microsoft Server Speech Platform Runtime (x86)
– Microsoft Server Speech Recognition Language – TELE (en-GB)
– … (various languages)
– Microsoft Server Speech Text to Speech Voice (en-GB)
– … (various voices)all these modules should be in version 11.0.7400.335
if not, uninstall these modules and reinstall

June 4, 2015 at 10:52 pm #7052I do know that all the modules are version 11.0.7400.335, but I am unsure as to the programs themselves. I will check again, as soon as I get home tonight. Thanks, Carl
June 5, 2015 at 2:14 pm #7053Hi again, all of the modules are version 11.0.7400.335. One line of Speech Platform Runtime (x86), 7 lines of Recognition Language (DE,GB,ES,FR,JP,PT,RU) and 7 lines of Text to Speech Voice (DE,GB,ES,FR,JP,PT,RU). It all looks good, but no languages. I installed on my work computer (Windows 7) and the voices show up properly. Could it be something else I have installed on the computer? I have the following items installed besides the operating system, Gazespeaker and Microsoft Speech:
Classic Shell
Google Chrome
K-Lite Codec Pack
Kodi
Microsoft Silverlight
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable 9.0.30729.17
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable 9.0.30729.6161
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable
Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86)
Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla Maintenance ServiceBy the way, I want to thank you for everything you have done with this program. My wife is 58 and has stage 5 Parkinson’s Disease. She can’t use her hands or really move at all and her speech is unintelligible making it impossible for her to communicate. With this program and a Tobii EyeX we have hope she will again be able to communicate with our kids and me. Thanks again for helping people like my wife. Carl
June 5, 2015 at 8:54 pm #7054Hi Carl,
Could you check in the log file if there is an error (in documents/gazespeaker/logs/log.txt)?June 6, 2015 at 12:43 am #7055I don’t know what it means, but here you go:

June 8, 2015 at 9:34 pm #7056Carl, I am searching for a solution. It seems to be related to x86. What kind of windows 8.1 version are you using (32 bits or 64 bits) ?
June 9, 2015 at 1:50 am #7057Pierre, It is x86 (32 bit) Microsoft Windows 8.1 with Bing
